Preparation
Measure out the width and height of the wall area where you plan to install the HandiWALL® slatwall panels. This will help you determine how many panels will be used and if any need to be cut to size.
Next with your stud finder locate where the strongest areas on the wall are and mark them with your pencil. These are the ideal spots for where to screw your HandiWALL® panels into.
Step 1: Cut Panels (If Necessary)
If the panels need to be cut to size, then measure and mark cutting lines. Wear safety goggles and use a saw to cut the panels to the desired size. If using Framed HandiWALL® Kit, cutting panels may not be necessary.
Step 2: Install The First Panel
Start at the bottom area where you want to install your slatwall. Position the first panel against the wall, making sure it is level. The groove should be facing the ceiling. Drive screws through the slats of the panel and into the wall studs.
Step 3: Align Trim
After securing the first HandiWALL® panel, proceed to install the trim around its perimeter. This trim will not only enhance the appearance of your HandiWALL® system but also serve as a guide for aligning the edges of subsequent panels.
Step 4: Continue To Stack And Screw
Align the next panel above the first one, ensuring the tongues and grooves align and fit snug. Repeat the screwing process, securing the panel to the wall studs.
Step 5: Finish Bordering Rest Of HandiWALL® With Trim
Once all panels are in place, finish by applying the remaining trim around the perimeter of the HandiWALL® system. This final touch will give your installation a polished and finished appearance, completing the overall look of your HandiWALL® slatwall system.
Step 6: Accessorize your HandiWALL®
Outfit your wall with our secure hooks, baskets, and shelves to make your space your own. Hooks are fitted with a locking mechanism to ensure stability and secure grip.
